Five thoughts on Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier

If stewardship is right for your business, time is running out to make a decision.

1. Deadline   – Applications have to be received by Natural England by 30^th September.
2. Greening   – How could you achieve your 5% Ecological Focus Area on top of any stewardship options?
3. Economics – What is the economic benefit after consideration of costs and incomes foregone?
4. Suitability – Would the layout of your farm suit a stewardship scheme and are there resources in place to effectively manage the requirements?
5. Risk – It is a competitive scheme with no guarantee of entry, plus Treasury backed funding remains uncertain.
