Today DEFRA has released further details regarding the following schemes, these are the headlines.

Capital Grants

• Submitted – Those put on hold (4,000+) will now start to be processed
• New Applications – Capital Grants will reopen ‘later this year’
  • Each of the 4 categories will have a cap reinstated, they will be as follows:
    • £25,000 Water Quality
    • £25,000 Air Quality
    • £25,000 Natural Flood Management
    • £35,000 Trees & Boundaries

Higher Level Stewardship (HLS)

• Some payment rates increasing from this year
• The RPA will write to agreement holders by the end of April with more detail

Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier

• Pre-application continuing in a controlled rollout
• Eventually those not invited for Pre-application advice will be able to apply

Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL)

• Being extended to 2026

Farming Equipment Technology Fund (FETF)

• Will open in Spring 2025
