Agricultural Business Analyst / Bookkeeper

We are looking to add an Agricultural Business Analyst / Bookkeeper to our growing team on a full-time permanent basis.

The successful applicant will assist in the undertaking and preparation of accurate management information and accounts, and deliver a bookkeeping service for agriculture clients.

Responsibilities will include:

This role covers many areas of responsibility, working with multiple clients, including but not limited to the following:

  • Compiling accurate financial information, including management budgets and reports
  • Carry out administrative estate management responsibilities
  • Liaise directly with farmers and estate owners, including some travel for client meetings
  • Maintain and improve your accounting knowledge, sharing where appropriate with colleagues and clients
  • Efficient and accurate completion of all monthly or quarterly bookkeeping activities including activities relevant to the practice including but not limited to VAT Returns, invoice management, bank reconciliations, sales and purchase ledger controls, pension payments, accruals, journals, prepayments etc
  • Provide cover and assistance to your colleagues

The role requires the following:

  • Outstanding organisation, with good attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy
  • Effective time management
  • Excellent analytical and numerical command
  • The ability to clearly communicate and build relationships both as a focused individual and as a team player
  • Competent with accounts software programmes and production of management information with an ability to interpret the figures
  • Proven bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts assistant experience
  • IT skills including excel
  • A willingness to be proactive and take the initiative
  • AAT Qualification to level 3, or a willingness to work towards it
  • Flexible approach to working from the office and travelling to farm meetings
