Business Manager

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual, capable of working closely with the partners in the leadership, management, and day to day operations of the business.

The Business Manager will be pivotal to ensuring that the business initiatives are implemented and managed effectively. You’ll need to demonstrate that you have a people focused approach, and a passion for achieving results.

Reports to:               The Partnership

Salary:                      Competitive, commensurate with experience

Contract Type:         Full-time, Permanent

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Work with the Partnership to develop and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
  • Deliver our people development strategy, including the coordination of employee training and the creation of professional development programs
  • Ensure that the company has the adequate and suitable resources in place to achieve its targets
  • Support with the implementation of the 5-Year Business Plan and Vision
  • Establish policies and procedures that gain efficiencies and operational best practice
  • Promote company culture and vision, with a strong focus on employee engagement
  • Lead the operational delivery of the organisation to meet business needs and demands
  • Interrogate financial information and time use data to identify areas for improvement and optimal resourcing
  • Support, advise and submit reports to the Partnership in all matters of importance, nominated subject areas and projects
  • Manage relationships with all suppliers within the office to drive constant improvement and efficiency
  • Work with the Business Administrator to ensure the business is compliant with all regulatory requirements
  • Lead all business requirements including IT, premises, leases, office equipment and insurance
  • Coordinate the marketing and development activity
  • Attend all staff meetings and take minutes at Partners meetings
  • Any other duties requested by the Partnership to ensure the smooth running of the business

The successful applicant requires the following skills;

  • Extensive experience of leadership and strategic implementation at executive levels
  • Experience in analysing financial and time use data
  • Proven track record of delivering a comprehensive Human Resources function, with an aptitude for People Development
  • Experience in executing transformation or change management projects
  • Aptitude to inspire, motivate and support a multi-disciplined team, and communicate at all levels
  • Ability to function both as a strong team player and a focused leader
  • A proactive approach to operational delivery with an ability to flex and adapt daily to meet the needs of the business
  • Able to demonstrate drive, assertiveness, initiative, and resilience
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety legislation, Data Protection and other corporate governance requirements, including their application and management in the workplace
  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Scrupulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills, outcome focused and an ability to seek out opportunities and deliver results
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • An understanding of working within a fee earning environment
